About OldKid Mag
OldKid Magazine is looking to publish works from any writer who has written about what being elderly means to them, whether about being an older adult themselves or older adults in their lives. What does aging look like to them? We are looking to publish nonfiction stories and poems written within your lifetime, no matter what stage. OldKid Magazine is dedicated to sharing stories to uplift older adults and highlight the beauty of aging.
OldKid Magazine is looking to publish from any writer of any age who has something to say on aging and being old, or an important person from your life. Editor Giana’s Grandma Nancy is the fire that started OldKid Magazine, helping to raise Giana and teach her the value of being an elder adult. Who is your Grandma Nancy? Who are you Grandma Nancy to?
Aging is something we have been told to fear, but what if we didn’t? We should treat aging and being old as a beautiful achievement; you have lived a full life and have become a never-ending fountain of stories and knowledge. OldKid Magazine is rewriting people's stance on aging and uplifting voices that are often forgotten. We want to share the radiant experiences of life and growing old, and share the joy of being elderly.
Editor
Meet Giana Ray, editor of OldKid Mag

Giana is a junior at Ohio University studying English (Pre-Law), but don't let her passion for law sway your opinion on her magazine. Giana is a passionate non-fiction writer and wants to share stories from voices we don't typically hear. Giana's life was shaped by elderly adults, creating her passion for advocating for older adults and their purpose after aging.
Nancy
I want to dedicate my magazine to Nancy Ritchey, my late grandmother. My grandma helped raise me, living in my house from before I was born until I was thirteen. She lived in our basement, giving her the name Basement Grandma. Whenever I needed someone, Basement Grandma was there. My grandma was passionate about art and the funniest person ever; her laugh would echo across our house. My grandma is the reason I have such a passion for the elderly.
Grandma, I love you and miss you; we will craft together again soon.
-Giana
